You haven’t heard from me for quite awhile for one simple reason, I haven’t cooked since the last time I posted. I’ve cooked breakfast, lunch, frozen dinners, and microwave popcorn but I haven’t cooked a complete homemade dinner this whole time. You know what else, I’m not feeling all that guilty about it. I’ve had some good sushi, pizza, and Italian food so don’t worry about my health. All is good.
My oldest son is a senior in college and he heads back to his final semester of school this Sunday. He attends Kenyon college which is essentially in the middle of nowhere but more precisely Ohio. There isn’t a whole host of ethnic food or really much beyond dorm food near Kenyon so my son likes to hit some of his favorite spots while he’s home. His very favorite is Japanese food after spending a semester studying in Kyoto.
Today we did sushi at one place for lunch and sushi at a different place for dinner. Don’t even think of suggesting that I make sushi. No. Sushi is best made by qualified sushi makers at cute little Japanese restaurants.
Yes, today is a rather important anniversary — eleven years of a relationship. As a result, I was invited out for a celebratory evening meal at one of my favorite local places — an authentic Japanese restaurant!
